Sauer & Sohn 1913 : The Armory Shelf

Hey everyone, I’m back!
I’ve been tied up with a project for a while and then went on a trip. During that time, I worked on this model, and now I’m happy to finally share it with you.
This one was fully modeled while traveling, and I’m really excited to put it out for you.

The Sauer & Sohn Model 1913 Pistol – an early German semi‑automatic pistol and one of the lesser‑known designs from the transitional era between revolvers and modern self‑loading handguns. A rare and mechanically distinctive firearm, reflecting the experimental engineering approaches of early 20th‑century automatic pistol development.

Due to the extreme scarcity of reliable historical references, this model was reconstructed through extensive research. The internal mechanism was studied using surviving documentation, period photographs, high‑resolution auction images, and historical video analyses to accurately understand the operating system and part interactions.

Because of these limitations, the model was rebuilt piece by piece with a strong emphasis on mechanical logic, functional realism, and historical accuracy. To the best of my knowledge, this is the most accurate and complete Sauer & Sohn 1913 pistol model created to date, comparable in detail and research depth to my Gasser and Bodeo projects.

Notes:

For best results, always exclude screw threads using the support painting feature. Removing supports from threaded areas can be difficult, especially on small diameters. Additionally, orient detailed parts along the Z
