Webley Self-Loading Pistol : The Armory Shelf

The Webley Self Loading Pistol – an early British semi-automatic pistol and one of the lesser-known steps in the evolution of automatic handgun design. A rare and mechanically intriguing firearm, representing the transition period between revolvers and modern self-loading pistols.

Due to the extreme scarcity of reliable references, this model was reconstructed through extensive research. I studied the internal operation using videos from @ForgottenWeapons, combined with high-resolution auction photographs and historical reference images to accurately understand the mechanism and part interactions.

Because of these limitations, this model was rebuilt piece by piece with a strong focus on mechanical logic and realism. To the best of my knowledge, this is the most accurate and complete Webley Self Loading Pistol model created to date, comparable in detail and research depth to my Gasser and Bodeo models.

Notes:

For best results, always exclude screw threads using the support painting feature. Sometimes removing supports from threaded areas is difficult, especially on small diameters. Also, always orient detailed parts along the Z axis to achieve maximum surface quality.

I test my models to check whether shell ejection is possible, as this is a common question from customers. However, due to the limitations of 3D printing, shell ejection is not possible in pistols and small arms. Therefore, this model—and almost all of my pistol models—cannot eject a shell.
